Williams Lake Secondary School is a public high school in Williams Lake, British Columbia part of School District 27 Cariboo-Chilcotin. It is often called "WL" or "WLSS". Its rival school is Columneetza Secondary School. Before 1999 it only included grades 8-10 and was known as Williams Lake Junior Secondary. WLSS has many very active sports teams, the most successful of which are the Stags (Rugby) which consistently goes to the provincials, and soccer which also tends to do well and go to provincials. Williams Lake Secondary School is also one of the few schools in BC to have had an incident involving a shooting. In 2006, the gun accidentally went off while it was been shown on a bus. No one was hurt.
